J.A.M. (Jesus and Me)
J.A.M. is an "intentional" faith formation time from 10:10-11:00 a.m. for children 3 years of age through 10th grade. Registration is encouraged to allow us to prepare and plan for your child. Children can be registered at any time during the year. Please call the church to register and request a student discipling book for detailed information.
The goal of the J.A.M. Ministry is to emphasize the importance of the Bible as the basis of our faith journey. We focus on:
- Bible values
- Bible skills
- Bible stories
- Bible verses
- building positive attitudes and relationships
- building a relationship with Jesus through prayer, through the faith journey of other Christians
- and the importance of public affirmation of our baptism promise.
Halftime After School Children's Ministry each Wednesday
Children in grades 1 through 6th at invited to participate in Halftime! Halftime is an after school ministry that is held each Wednesday from 3:05-4:00 p.m. It is a structured time which includes such activities as recreational, friendship building, Bible time, snack time and more! Teen Night Together (TNT) for Junior and Senior High students meets on the first and third Wednesday nights of the month from 7:00-8:30 p.m. This is a time to hang out together in fellowship, hang out together to build relationships with one another as God's people and to explore the Bible.
Other events we encourage youth to experience during the year:
- The yearly Fall ELCA Junior High Youth Gathering
- The yearly Spring ELCA Senior High Youth Gathering
- The ELCA Senior High Youth Gathering to be held every 3 years
- Adventure to Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks taken every other year
- Weekend recreational retreats throughout the year
- Elementary events encouraging fellowship and recreational time together as God's people
- Servant and mission trips
Confirmation Ministry "Making Disciples"
Active participation in the life of the congregation will assist the family in laying the foundation for the development of a child's faith life as well as prepare the youth in making their commitment of public affirmation of their faith. The process begins in the 1st grade and will continue through the high school years. The earliest a young person can publicly affirm their faith is the spring of their 10th grade year.
Stage 1: Family Faith Formation for 1st through 6th Grade includes various family classes throughout the year.
Stage 2: Inquirers for 7th and 8th Grade includes Wednesday Release Time held during the school year from 12:30-3:00 p.m.
Stage 3: Seekers for 9th Grade includes ALPHA classes and other service opportunities.
Stage 4: Disciples for 10th Grade includes preparing for Affirmation of Baptism (Confirmation)
