Remembering Our Loved Ones
All Saints Sunday, November 1st
On all Saints Sunday, November 1st, we will remember
those from our congregation who have died this past year.
We need your help.
We, of course, know of the loved ones whose funeral we hosted
but if you have a loved one who died
this past year
and would like to have them remembered as well, you need to let us know.
Please call the church office at 281-4276 with the person’s name and date of death.
This information must be in the church office no later than 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 27th.
Join us for Book Study led by Marsha Odom!
Thursdays: 12:00 Noon @ First Presbyterian
In this highly acclaimed and lyrical modern classic, bestselling author Barbara Brown Taylor
reveals the countless ways we can discover divines depths in the small things we do and see every day. An Altar in the World reveals concrete ways to discover the sacred in such ordinary occurrences as hanging out the washing, doing the supermarket shop, feeding an animal, or losing our way. It will transform our understanding of ourselves and the world we live in.
For more information or if you have questions, contact the First Presbyterian Church office at 281-4853 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org
The book can be purchased from Amazon for $11.00 or contact FPC at 281-4853 and we will place an order for you.

September Campaign for Crookston’s
Care & Share Emergency Assistance Fund
Trinity Lutheran is a ministry partner with Crookston’s Care & Share homeless shelter and New Hope Food Shelf.
We give regularly to the Emergency Assistance Fund that provides dollars to families
and individuals who have emergency expenses in difficult times.
In September, Trinity is challenging all of us to raise additional dollars for the Care & Share Emergency Fund. You may give a contribution through Trinity by designating your gift for “Care & Share.” You may also give directly to the Care & Share by sending your donation to 220 East 3rd Street, Crookston MN 56716.
The Care and Share New Hope Food Shelf is open every Monday & Wednesday afternoon from 1:00-5:00 pm.
For more information, or to donate, call 218-277-0000.
If you plan to use any SPACE for any REASON

Prayer of St. Francis
Make me an instrument of your peace.
where there is hatred, let us sow love;
where there is injury, pardon;
where there is discord, union;
where there is doubt, faith;
where there is despair, hope;
where there is darkness, light;
where there is sadness, joy;
Grant that we may not so much seek
to be consoled as to console;
to be understood as to understand;
to be loved as to love.
For it is in giving that we receive;
it is in pardoning that we are pardoned;
and it is in dying that
we are born to eternal life.

Download the app “Give Plus Church” from Google Play or the App Store, follow the instructions to find our church and enter your information. Use your existing on-line giving sign-in, or create a new account, and your general fund donation amount. It’s as simple as that!
If you have questions about giving electronically, please contact the church office at 281-4276.

Spread the Good News!
Carrying the message of the gospel through the streets of Crookston
can feel intimidating but through Trinity’s Radio and TV Ministry, we are
reaching out to those who may not step into our church building to hear the message.
This vital outreach touches lives well beyond Crookston’s city limits. Gifts to the Radio
Fund can be given to honor or remember a loved one. Recognition of the weekly radio
broadcast sponsorship can be scheduled to coincide with a memorable date.
The cost of each weekly broadcast is $126.00. If you would like to sponsor a broadcast,
contact the church office at 281-4276 to schedule a date.
FOR EMERGENCIES: After office hours and on weekends call 218-289-0353
or the church office at 281-4276 and your call will be transferred to a pastor.
Please post this telephone number in your home.
HOSPITALIZED? The only way the church knows that you’re hospitalized is if you,
a loved one, or friend notifies us. Please call the church office (281-4276) and let us know
so that Trinity can support you with prayer and with presence.

Be the change! Give your time as a tutor!
Reading is the foundation of all learning – but in Minnesota, one in three third graders struggles to read. As a literacy tutor, you can help these students gain the skills they need to thrive.
Minnesota Reading Corps is currently recruiting tutors in our area. More information is available by calling 866-859-2825 or you may apply online at ReadingAndMath.net
Volunteers work full or part-time and receive a small stipend and other benefits depending on hours worked. All schedules are Monday – Friday.
An informational flyer about this position is located in the parking lot entrance.
